Sorry I haven't written much lately, however nothing much has been happening lately.
We are still no further forward trying to get answers to our "high usage" suddenly dropping when the meter was changed.
Actually one of the girls at work picked up on a very poignant incident. We had been discussing energy consumption in general and more specifically about how my complaint was progressing. I was telling some of my staff about the day (10/04/07) the OFGEM examiner turned up in transport provided by Scottish Fuck-ups. I got to the point where our meter was removed for intensive lab testing, and was about to say that the examiner had told the Scottish Fuck-ups electrician just to leave the check meter as it was already wired to our system, when Amanda asked that very same question. Why didn't they just leave the check meter as your meter?
I told her that that was what the OFGEM examiner had asked and was told by the electrician, that he had been given strict instructions that the test meter was to be removed also, and that the new Digital meter was to be fitted. She replied that it seemed to her that something decidedly dodgy was going on at that time, or why else would they insist on removing a perfectly functional meter. I had to agree!
Anyway I was reading in one of the papers the other day that the average household electricity bill had breached £1300.00, and I'm thinking to myself - Is that all? God, I was paying £4121.00 some 5 years ago, but apparently didn't have a problematic electricity supply. I'm currently only paying £1500.00 and all that has changed is the meter. If anything I use more appliances than previous years, but don't use the same high level of electricity. How do you explain that? One thing for certain is that Scottish Fuck-ups can't and indeed won't. As long as they get "their" money they don't give a rat's arse.
