We've just been looking at some of our meter readings over the last few years, whilst contemplating our next move. What seems absolutely clear to us and any of our friends, family and colleagues; but completely bamboozles and bewilders everyone at the Ombudsman's Service and anyone in Scottish Fuck-ups, is the fact that since our meter was changed to a digital meter we use significantly less electricity. The following are some examples. I leave it up to you to draw your own conclusion.
Bearing in mind the meter was changed at around 12:00 midday on the 10th April 2007.
In January 2006 (before meter change) we used 2393 units of electricity.
In January 2007 (before meter change) we used 2034 units of electricity.
In January 2008 (after meter change) we used 1494 units of electricity.
In May 2006 (before meter change) we used 851 units of electricity.
In May 2007 (after meter change) we used 529 units of electricity.
In MAY 2008 (after meter change) we used 561 units of electricity.
In March 2007 (before meter change) we used 1876 units of electricity.
In March 2008 (after meter change) we used 1298 units of electricity.
In April 2007 (meter changed on 10th) we used 822 units of electricity.
In April 2008 (after meter change) we used 809 units of electricity.
I think there is a pattern emerging. However, I still leave you to draw your own conclusions. Scottish Fuck-ups conclusion - we use less appliances in an attempt to prove our case.
