Finally got a response from the clowns at Scottish Power today. Once again they show their incompetence and ineptitude at running a public utility. A hand delivered letter to "Andy" which is not my name, never has been my name and never will be my name. This letter stated that they were considering cutting us off or applying to have a prepaid meter installed. This is despite my wife volunteering to pay on 04/08/08.

Whilst I was at work she called the bastards back again. She confronted the arsehole Colin Pensom and he admitted his failure to pass on the correct message to his boss Neil Clitheroe (who thinks that a fancy font is tantamount to signing his name - probably because the thick fucker cannot spell his own damned name). Following repeated appologies which I personally do not accept - There is no room for incompetence in a public utility - he eventually agreed to set up a standing order to take money from my wifes account which they know they are not entitled to.

Throughout my life I was brought up to pay my debts - to the extent that I remember my father was made redundant from his job in the 1970s. He was sent to the dole office and was given 50p to support a wife and four kids for a week. He handed it back telling the girl that perhaps her need of the 50p was greater and found himself another job - so we went without for a week, but our bills were covered.

This continued into my adult life and in 1988 my sister and me bought a flat together. within a year she moved out and my bills all doubled instantly. There were times when I was left with only enough money to feed either myself or my dog, but all my bills were paid because thats how I was brought up.

I now find myself dealing with these thieving bastards at Scottish Power - knowingly taking money from me and my family - that they are not entitled to. They know there is a fault in my electrical system at their side, but they do nothing about it. They say its my wiring. I have told them on numerous occasions that my wiring has been checked by two independent electricians and deemed fine and that the fault lies with the lying bastards at Scottish Power. Yet they do nothing. My Solicitor agrees that there is a fault, but would not be willing to take on such a large company. He says the burden of proof is still with us. That is despite our bills dropping by 50% when the digital meter was installed on 10/04/07 and indeed continues to this day to be 50% on average lower than before the meter was changed. Again I ask, Is that because the new meter is faulty?
