  • Waiting Game!!!!!!

Still no contact as yet from Scottish Power - despite us volunteering to pay. I am about to write my latest Cheque to "Scottish Power Thieves" I am also going to tell them that I have written to various branches of the media (including copies of actual bills) just to get my story out to as many people as I can. People need to be warned about these thieving Bastards.

I wrote in my blog some time ago that I intended to write my story down and try to have it published - again as a warning to others. Well just to let everyone know this is now well in hand. If I remember correctly I have around four chapters written which brings me up to about 2003. As an example of how things have changed - since the 10/04/07 until present day we have used 13219 units of electricity. This does not come anywhere near close to what we used annually, prior to the digital meter being fitted. However no use dwelling over that little fact, seeing as how Scottish Power don't give a shit as long as they get their cash.

  • Thank-you

Have had one or two encouraging replies from newspapers that I wrote to, so thank - you to them. However since visiting our Solicitors, who thinks we have a good case but would have difficulty proving it, and doesn't think that the problem has been rectified. We have contacted Scottish Power to arrange payment. They gave a verbal payment plan to my wife over the telephone and said they would call her back on Monday 04/08/08. To date she has heard nothing.

We have now followed our Solicitors advice and offered to pay the theiving bastards and now they won't talk to us. Oh, by-the-way in my time honoured way of naming and shaming, the latest Scottish Power moron to ignore us is Colin Pensom.

Whilst I was at work the other day, we had a visit from a Scottish Power sales representative asking if we would consider changing to Scottish Power for our energy needs. In her very calm manner my wife politely declined stating that we already got our electricity from Scottish Power. He asked about gas. My wife told him that we did not have gas, but if we did we would never switch to Scottish Power unless hell froze over and there was blue snow in the sahara. He asked why. To which my wife gave our abridged story. He appeared genuinely shocked at the size of our bills and the response from Scottish Power. Will this change anything - I think not!!

  • Continuing Campaign

I have just finished writing a letter to as many newspapers as I can think of and then find an address for. I've written to tabloids and broadsheets alike. I intend to expose these thieving bastards for what they are. I want as many people as I can to see what kind of company they would be dealing with should they switch to Scottish Power.

I have included copies of bills from 2003 demanding money in excess of £3000.00 for a years electricity. Thus showing that I was paying far more than anyone else I know, more that five years ago. Today the media have grasped the fact that energy bills have just on average breached the £1000.00 mark, yet I breached £3000.00 five years ago according to my thieving friends at Scottish Power.

  • Is This The End!

Had a meeting with our Solicitor today, who though we were nuts when we told him how much we have spent on electricity in the last 10 years. He agreed that clearly there was a problem, but the onus is on us to prove what the fault is. He said that Scottish Power are responsible for the wiring up to the meter, but not beyond. We already knew this as we were told this many years ago by Scottish Power themselves. He said that in the eyes of the law, Scottish Power would be seen as having done everything possible to find the solution to the problem, despite the fact that they had pretty much done nothing. He said that unfortunately under the circumstances he could do nothing, but if we found any further evidence he would certainly help us.

It would seem that even having our own electrician look at our wiring internally has little effect on the case. Our solicitor went on to suggest that perhaps a neighbour was tapped into our meter, which is something we ourselves once questioned. Again without substantiating evidence we get nowhere. The end result is he suggest that even though we have already paid over the odds, we get Scottish Power to set up a payment plan, and pay until such times as we have more evidence. I am still not inclined to pay any more. We have already paid £8964.58 and are still in debt by £2500.00. When you work out the actual amount we should have paid (based on figures provided by Scottish Power themselves) - £4803.74 - a difference of nearly £7000.00, then you can see how galling the situation is. I would like to go through to Scottish Powers head office to crack a few heads, and being a 6' 4" 20 stone Martial Artist this would be easy. However my wife reminds me that I'd end up in jail and no better off.
