Heard from my friends at Scottish Power a couple of days ago. It seems that paying a single payment of £1150.00 was unacceptable. They now intend seeking payment by debt collection. I say send your debt collectors and ensure you have good healthcare packages for them. I for my part intend to continue to pursue the matter via the legal route.

I recently discovered that Scottish Power reckon that at todays prices a single person, living alone in a 3 bed roomed all electric house with average insulation and didn't cook every night, would be expected to use £415.00 of electricity in a year. Bearing in mind a unit of electricity from them is 11.79p, then 10 years ago when electricity was 5.5p per unit or around 1/2 of todays price then I should have been paying around £215.00 - £250.00. Not the £430.00 for 3 months I did have to pay.

I only hope I can convince a Solicitor that what I am saying is the truth. I don't feel that these bastard's, should get away with the lies and cheating they have so far gotten away with. It's all too easy to say "Yes we know there is a problem with your electricity, but we don't know what" and then deny you ever said that. Or saying that high usage when no-one is in the house (i.e. 3 x normal daily usage by an average user) is irrelevant or just a coincidence. I need proper answers from someone who knows what they are talking about, not some half-arsed rubbish from a moron with barely a tenuous grasp of the english language.

Can I also say good luck Kenny, I hope you can successfully take on this scum. Believe me there is a huge number of people out there who are having similar problems with Scottish Power. Even my neighbour who has switched suppliers and cut his losses is benefitting from the repairs made to the system by Scottish Power on 10/04/07. His bills have dropped around £600.00 per year and when you take into consideration the increases in pricing recently, you understand the magnitude of the problem. I still take comfort in the old statement that the truth will always find a route to be told.
