  • A Response!!!

Today I received 3 letters. The first was from the Ombudsman service stating that before Roger Jeffries gets to see the case a review is carried out by a Chief Ombudsman - who in this case, has changed nothing. It seems that a drop of 6000 units in a year does not constitute good evidence, despite this being the only change to my supply.

The second acknowleged my decline of the offer to pay over three years, however, had I accepted this I would not be able to have my day in court. So I had no choice but to decline the offer. I fully intend to take the matter to court. Scottish Power are NOT getting to steal any more money from me.

Unsurprisingly the third was from the parasites themselves - demanding money. But I am determined to do everything within the law to prevent them from further theft. Indeed I intend to claim back all the money I believe I have overpaid.

  • Reply sent.

Spent this evening writing my response to the latest letter received from the Ombudsman Service. I decided that I should reject the offer made before contacting the Ombudsman, since no other offer has been made. Tomorrow I shall contact a firm of solicitors in order to assess my chances should I take the matter to court.

I am completely disillusioned by all forms of regulatory bodies at present. No-one it seems is prepared to stand up and say what is or isn't right anymore. As an example - I informed the Ombudsman that since my house had the new digital meter fitted we had used around 6000 units less in 1 year than all previous years. The response from the Ombudsman service was "An Ombudsman's decision cannot be overturned". What does that mean to you????

  • Finally a Response!!!

Today I received a letter from my old "Friends" at the Ombudsman service. It seems that I cannot accept the decision with provision to switch suppliers with immediate effect. It seems that I can only accept the decision, however if I do that then it is unlikely that court action would change anything as we effectively would have made it look like we were wrong and Scottish Power were right all along. So I am left with no alternative but to reject the Ombudsmans decision, and let the matter go to court.

So that is exactly what I will do. On Monday I will send a letter rejecting the Ombudsmans plan and take my chances in court. I know I'm right, and I'm not letting these thieving bas***ds, get away with it.

This just capped a really crap week. It started with a backache caused by standing up from having been seated in a chair (still sore yet), followed by a broken driver seat in my car, then my Grandfather died yesterday morning - he was my absolute best friend. Then this morning my wife slept in for work; so guess who had to get up at 4:30 am on a day of mourning to take her to work. Finally my letter from the Ombudsman. Don't you just love life??

  • Interesting Comment??

Just as I was about to come up to my computer tonight, my doorbell rang. Unusually for me, I chose to answer the door. I opened the door and there was a woman, who apparently was looking for new business for an energy company. I stopped her before she got into her sales pitch by saying that If it were at all possible for me to switch companies I would. I told her I was in dispute with my current supplier and as such was prevented from switching. She asked who my current supplier was, so I told her that Scottish Power were my current supplier. She rolled her eyes knowingly and said.

"Say no more, I used to work for Scottish Power, and know how they work!"

What does that tell me. It tells me that my suspicions regarding the integrity or lack thereof of Scottish Power is confirmed. They are a bunch of thieving rogues, no better than common little thugs. Fleecing honest, hardworking people of their hard-earned money to line their own pockets. Apologies to anyone offended by my comments, but that is my honest opinion of this cowboy company.
